Licence

Application and Renewal Process – Naphtha

Empowered by the section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act 1955 and West Bengal Naphtha (Acquisition, Storage, Sale and Prevention of usage in automobiles) Order, 2000 of the Government of West Bengal, the Directorate of Consumer Goods under Department of Food & Supplies regulates the distribution of Kerosene oil through the Public Distribution System through a network of Agents and Dealers. The Director of Consumer Goods (DCG) in case of Kolkata and Bidhannagar or the District Magistrate in the districts is the licensing authority for the Dealers to a person eligible to carry on trade in Naphtha after receiving application from him/her and license fee as mentioned below, provided that no license shall be granted without the approval of the State Government. Every license remains valid for one year since the date of issue and can be renewed for a successive period of two years before the expiry of validity.
