The West Bengal State Food Commission (WBSFC)(henceforth called the Commission) was constituted on 21st November, 2017 by the government of West Bengal.
Its first Chairperson, Shri Satish Chandra Tewary IAS(Retd.) and first Member Shri Hari Ramulu IAS(Retd.) were appointed in February,2021. They joined on 1st March,2021. The Commission has started functioning since 1st of March,2021 and has since monitored the implementation of the National Food Security Act in West Bengal. After resignation of Shri Hari Ramulu IAS(Retd.) with effect from 09.01.2023; the commission has now one Chairperson and no other member.
